Hello Gallaudetians and fellow Deaf community-

I believe that we have been very confused or fooled by Gallaudet Board of Trustees during the New President Search Process. I talked to few sources of mine, that they informed me that they never used students and faculty and staff for suggestions or ask them for ideas of candidates who would be perfect for the Gallaudet President Position.

Then when the announcement came and they selected Dr Alan Hurwitz as 10th President of Gallaudet University.

heres the link of this article that Hurwitz confessed to Deafnation, that he turned GU down 3 times till 4th time that he talked to the BOTs and PSAC.

DN: What was the turning point that made you decide to become a candidate for the presidency of Gallaudet University?

Hurwitz: The PSAC had contacted me three times already, but by the fourth time, I had a good talk with the search consultants and, eventually, with the PSAC chair. I was told it was not just the presidency of a university, but truly a call to national service. That impacted me, having been former president of the National Association of the Deaf. Gallaudet has a rich history and I’ve always been familiar with the university.

Hello Gallaudetians and GU community-

Im back home for weekend of 4th of July in Wa state, im proud of our boys working hard in summer workouts so far getting ready for this football season! i have copy of 2009 schledule but will scan it later and post it tmw.

2009 football season will be very crucial to Gallaudet's future for 2010 and beyond in recuriting and other things. I know Hottle has done enough damage to Football program and GU athletics deptartment. Its going to be struggle to fix this and we need to prepare a fundraiser for a new Fieldhouse its our dream to have new fieldhouse and new athletic complex on Gallaudet University campus because we need to get elite deaf athetes to go to GU for education and athletics at same time and enjoy the collge life because we have to win games and try to win d3 championships. we need to prove to hearing people and sports world, that we can play like other people.

Hi Gallaudetians and fellow Gallaudet athletics fans and Gallaudet Community-

i just am not impressed with the way Coach Edward Hottle's recuriting and we lost an superstar recurit in Ryan Bonheyo that we sorely needed to help improve our program for future in future recuriting and we need elite deaf-all americans and football players that can help us develop the program that we need to be in division 3.

The Deaf sherlock and rest of alumni and i arent happy with the progress with GU football under Mr Hottle. we need to get new coach and we need to get many people involved in this peititon that we can force Board of Trustees to realize Gallaudet needs new assistant athletic director and new Head football coach that can improve Gallaudet University and its football program.

i am not happy that mr ryan commerson has been still on campus like i expected him to be gone sooner than expected but i hoped that we d be have peace and let the new president process begin but it looks like Eric Holder is in DC and is being attorney general and Gu is being jeopardized by Holder's spot as Attorney General and we arent happy abt that and obivously alumnis need to realize this is time to save our university that we love from that issue and we need to convince Board of Trustees to prevent another protest in next future..

Hi Gallaudet Community-

Hello guys sorry i have been absence from this blog. im glad to say im all right and busy with my family life and personal stuff going on my life. Sadly that GU football season went badly this past fall and Coach Hottle didnt help his cause a lot with Gallaudet Alumnis and students that we went 2-8 in 2nd d3 season of Gallaudet University football program in NCAA division 3 existence.

Hottle has 4-20 record in d3 play plus 18-6 in club play. thats what d3 counts as a record and he had issues with players and everybody at the univeristy because GU has a lot of standards that has to be accountable to students and staff and faculty and Board of Trustees.

Board of Trustees must do something abt the status of Coach Hottle and the direction of GU football and let Athletic Director Micheal Weinstock dicatate his own way of directing intercollegiate athletics at Gallaudet University and hire his own coach and let the new head coach hire his capable coaching staff and can recurit elite deaf football players to the university that can fit academically and have fun as student at GU as a student athlete.

I m worried abt future of Gallaudet University football program as alumni.

Gallaudet update

Hello Gallaudet Community-

Our football team has endured 2 tough losses since opening day loss vs Hiram in Overtime. Tonight the Bison will take chartered busses to Massachusetts to play Becker College on Saturday at noon. I expect the boys to play hard and tough for 60 minutes of full four quarters of football or more depending how the game is going.

I hope the veterans and rookies pull together as a team to pull this victory for us this weekend so they can have confidence heading into next week game vs SUNY Martime in New York City near Throggs Park. if they can get 2 out of 3 current road trip as wins they can get this season as positive and head into November on a positive attiude. and Hope they can get confidence as season goes on.

I know that off-season will be different for GU football program because i bet the athletic director and Gu alms would want a deaf coach to lead this program into future years and bring back drum traiditon and bring GU Blue traditional helmets back and recurit best deaf players from deaf schools or mainstream programs and have off-season conditioning program and good caoching staff.

Lets believe in those boys for 2008!

Gallaudet Game # 1

We didnt do very well on offense and defense like we the fans would had liked. But we did battle tough in the OT game vs Hiram College from Ohio in a tough weather and i expect the team to make signficiant improvements from Game 1 to Game 2 vs St Vincent's College from PA. I expect former Bison Head coach Colbert will have his team ready for the game but we need to keep focused on each play, each down, each quarter of the game. I want to emphasize to the boys of the football team "BELIEVE" we need to believe in our selves and can win many d3 games and represent the Gallaudet community that well.

I hope coach Hottle does let kids play with their strengths not let coach have input in the coaches game plan we beat SVC last year but St vincent will have revenge on mind.

I will inform you this week's news as the week progresses before Sat afternoon's game. Come out to Hotchkiss field at 1pm to see Bison battle St Vincent's College.

Hey guys-

Im home for the summer.... So Gallaudet University has been good but has diffculties in mission to getting the campus back to the normal. knowing anti-protest group is out there wanting the campus back to normal. they need to stop and leave the campus alone...

Gallaudet Football team is anxious to start another season on Sept 6 vs Hiram College. it is a challenging schledule for our team and fans. but we will grow as a program if Hottle coaches the team right way and win some games if we do have a losing season this year. there will be many alums clamoring for Hottle's firing like me and Deaf Sherlock.

Hey guys-

i was outraged this morning when a player emailed me this prank. But we were able to handle this thing quickly and quietly. But the question begs why did this prank come at the april fools day while we were in spring drills mode already? we were preparing for football season for august fall camp.

The players are very hurt by their feelings by this situation and we want to see who sent the prank to mr stassler and apologize to us and the athletic director.

Is Gallaudet in Trouble?

Hey guys-

Happy new years entering 2008. Soon its 8 months away from tmw our 2008 season opens for Bison team! 7 months left till training camp already! cant believe. The question is Coach Hottle is planning a winter workouts? i think not because some of my friends on team told me that Coach Hottle doesnt do anything for winter conditioning. its not fair that we did play poorly vs D3 because of conditioning workouts in winter and we are at disadvantage sometimes because we get worn out in 4th quarter because we play in heat in august and sept in the Washington DC.

I found out that a person made deaf porn and it may affect our university? Why? I dont understand why he put "gally gone wild" on the deaf porn website. What is his motive towards the university? Did the president allow this to go through? many questions to be answered in the future and BOTs need to reconsider Davila as president of this University and Edward Hottle as a Head coach of this university. We need a deaf head coach back and get drum tradition back and get a winter conditioning underway on January 21, 2008!

Good News fellow Gallaudetians-

I'm back after busy time with school. Its good news in the world of mine. Jane Fernandes isnt coming back to the campus after the rumors was spread. She has been hired by University of North Carolina Asheville to be their provost. Now its other university's turn to understand what she is like.

Now Gallaudet is lookin like good but we need to save our university from Jordan and Davila but i know ridor is disappeared somewhere but he wants gallaudet ot be party school like davila does want to.

The Deaf Sherlock was right, Fernandes would possibly damage the campus if Jane F had decided to come back to teach in spring semester but the damage hasnt been controlled yet if Jordan and Parmunk decides to come back in January at Gallaudet for spring semester 2008, wait and see what happens.

Everybody know Gallaudet deserves a deaf young president that is bright and very smart to let deptartment do their jobs and allow our athletic director Mike weinstock to hire a deaf football coach thats best for our football program. we want to see a winner at gallaudet on the field and off the field.

Gallaudet's Loss

Hey fellow Gallaudetians-

Gallaudet lost their 5th game of the season vs Mount Ida in Mass 28-14. it proved to me that they did play very well vs a tough d3 team in new england region. But we got a long way to go up in this program to get better in the d3 ranks.

My fellow friend from bellingham, wa told me that i should forget about Gallaudet. No i wont forget because i am loyal to bison athletics and Mike weinstock, and Anna Hall. I believe in them to improve Gallaudet athletics into one of the best college athletics dept for the deaf and in the nation. I love my deaf friends there and i am loyal to our only deaf university despite my friend from bellingham says i should move on but i m a fan of football program and we need a new head coach in football for deaf football players and improve the recuriting with deaf schools and public school systems.

My friend whos a officer in DPS is having a tough time with her one of member of her family dying soon Please keep her in your prayers as i do.

Hello Gallaudetians and my fellow friends-

Gallaudet Athletics has been improving every day under the direction of Micheal Weinstock, the interim athletics director and Anna Hall, athletics operations specialist and senior woman administrators. Both of them was with me at mssd when i graduated in spring 2004. I still look up to them as my role models and influentials people in my life. I expect them to be here for my wedding someday in few years. I thank them a lot and i owe my life to them.

Results of Gallaudet HC

Hello Gallaudetians and my fellow friends

Gallaudet Football team did good job although we need to work on tackling and defense. But the offense stepped up their play in the fourth quarter along with the defense to ensure we would win our homecoming game vs a club team Williamson Trade. It proves we are a strong team against club teams but we need improve our record of 1-4 vs D3 teams... Hottle hasnt proved his coaching skills that would help us win the games at the highest level that Gallaudet foottball has been since we moved up from club status.

Many Students and I already signed the petition to bring the drum back and I believe that Grandfather Bison would be proud of us signing the petition and we signed the petition for Hottle to leave as Head coach. we need a quality deaf head coach that embraces Gallaudet football program along with the drum tradition..

Drum wasnt used last sat that proves to me that Hottle is ingoring the gallaudet's tradition and he wants to make new ones.

Ethics Violation

Hey Gallaudetians and my friends-

Ethics was seriously violated when they decided to name our student academic center after our former president I King Jordan while he is alive. He isnt a legend of the campus because he ruined many things on the campus at Gallaudet University when the deaf sherlock and i was there together at the same time. I believe that the name should be removed and let it be named proper "Student Academic Center"

I have concerns about ethics issues at Gallaudet University. We need to improve our ethics at our university. we need to regain students and staff and faculty's trust and help to heal our campus community heal as one group. Gallaudet University is in rough spot while Davila is the president along with Jordan's connection with him. We need a younger president that has a knowledge of Gallaudet and what she/he can provide.

As a Graduate of MSSD, i was shocked that Dr Katherine J has decided to resign, its good thing because she embrassed the alumnis with the hate crime on MSSD campus. she needs to leave MSSD and Clerc Center. Hopefully we need to find a good dean that can help mssd bulid their reputation back up. Gallaudet needs reputation back under new president not Davila.

Hope Bison are ready for the game vs Williamson Trade. I wonder whats Hottle's game plan for Williamson Trade. We need a petition to get Hottle out and hire new head coach for this direction of program.

Homecoming in DC

Hi Gallaudetians and my fellow bloggers.

Gallaudet has the homecoming week this week concluding with the football game vs Williamson Trade at 1:00pm at Hotchkriss Field. Everyone be there if u guys can make it. I have a concern about Gallaudet Football team emtionally and mentallu off 4 losing game streak. I think i ts time for Hottle to consider steeping down from this program. They need a deaf head coach and embrace the drum tradition.

Ridor is so wrong about drums, he hasnt talked to any sources. I know its true that Coach Hottle doesnt use the drums for games from my sources. I believe Ridor is trying to encourage that drums needs to go.

My question is why davila did start with athletics to change the direction of the university we love?

Hello-

The Deaf Sherlock was right, Andrew chambers and I was assistant to the Deaf Sherlock for the football team, hereby The deaf sherlock was senior manager. Few days ago i found out that Gallaudet University announced the new Board of Trustees. The newest additions may not help Gallaudet University develop their own way right away. Is Marlee Martlin willing to devote her time to helping Gallaudet University? Dr. Jorge Herrera is a hearing bot, and Dr. Fischer is so involved in deaf communty but the question is that will he help the university with his ways? Dr. Humber has a connection to Gallaudet because his wife was employed by KDES. Dr Richard Lander is a hearing person that teaches at University of Washington thats 2 hours south of me. James Macfadden is a deaf bot but he is a toughest guy to help Gallaudet University to get back in the right directions.

The Board of Trustees cant help Gallaudet Univewrsity heal itself. The students and faculty and staff need to come together to help this university heal. first thing i think they need to find a solid deaf president than Dr. Davila and get Jimmy Destefano back in the athletics dept. He is a icon on the campus and Jimmy Destefano knew what he was doing in the athletics. my question is Why did Davila want to change the University in athletics first?

Gallaudet Football has lost 4 in a row but they are on an bye week. Hottle needs reconsider letting someone else take this program over.... like a deaf head coach.

Hello

The deaf sports manager here is back and alive! I believe in the Gallaudet football program because it has a lot of abilties with the drum. Being an former football manager in my career with my friend, the deaf sherlock, we want to see Gallaudet University to be able to succeed and have a great athletic dept. so i have the faith in my friends on the GU campus and football team to get the campus back together as a community.

Actually, The deaf sherlock and I agree that Gallaudet University needs to get back to proper process and be able to shed the label "party school" I dont see that under President Davila right now but i hope that in some future, Gallaudet can improve in every way they can.

i got the news of incident last weekend but its bad and its going bad on campus that my friends told me.
